Palmas Beach SC, Brazil Live Cam

Praia de Palmas runs across this webcam view at Governador Celso Ramos, on the coast of Santa Catarina in Brazil. A small yellow building stands at the top of the sand, and the beach runs three kilometres to the headland with islands offshore.

This is the longest beach in the municipality, on the stretch of coast north of Florianópolis where the mountains come down to the sea. Trails run up to viewpoints above the bay and on to smaller beaches that have no road to them.

The water is calm and shallow, so this is a family beach rather than a surf one. It fills in January and February and stays quiet the rest of the year.
