Cow Sanctuary, Austria Live Cam

The yard of a cow sanctuary at Radstadt lies under this webcam, in the Salzburg region of the Austrian Alps. A rotating brush is fixed to a post for the animals to rub against, and the gate at the back leads out to the pasture.

The animals here were farm cattle and now live out their lives on the site instead. They are kept in an open barn with access to the yard through the winter, move to the pastures in spring and autumn, and spend about three months of the summer on alpine meadows between 1,700 and 2,100 metres.

The farm is run as a vegan operation with rooms and guided visits. In winter the yard is snow and trampled ground, and the herd drifts between the brush, the feeding rack and the open gate.
