Weather and time
This live view from the edge of the First Estate in Venus Bay looks out across open green pasture toward a low line of trees on the horizon. A timber power pole stands on the left, and a clump of tall tussock grass fills the lower right corner.
Venus Bay is a small holiday township in the South Gippsland Shire, about 180 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. It sits on a narrow peninsula beside Anderson Inlet, and the First Estate holds its only shopping strip. Fewer than a thousand people live here year-round, with many more arriving in the holidays. Past the last houses, farmland runs east toward Tarwin Lower.
Instead of the surf, this fixed camera looks out over farmland, so most of the picture is paddock, horizon and sky. The morning sun rises on the left side of the view, and a date and time stamp runs across the top of the image.
