Weather and time
This live view looks up at the concrete water tower in Orange, New South Wales, where peregrine falcons nest in a box high above the ground. The sloping top of the tower fills much of the frame against open sky, with a row of tree crowns along the bottom edge.
The tower stands on the hilltop at the centre of the Charles Sturt University campus and was one of the first structures built there, when the site was an agricultural college. Its tank wraps around a central pillar and still feeds the grounds by gravity. A nest box was fixed to its south side in the late 2000s, and the falcons moved in almost at once.
Unlike the cameras inside the nest box, this one films the tower from a distance and shows the structure and the sky around it. The framing changes between days, from the whole upper tank on its column to a close zoom on the roof edge.
