Live Cams in Texel

Texel is the largest of the Dutch Wadden Islands, about twenty minutes by ferry from Den Helder. Its west coast is one long beach backed by dunes and marked by numbered beach posts, while the inland villages sit among pastures grazed by the island's sheep. The Eierland lighthouse at the northern tip, first lit in 1864, was badly damaged in 1945 during the uprising of Georgian soldiers against the German garrison, one of the last battles of the Second World War in Europe.
