Whitewater Park, Cañon City Live Cam

This camera watches the Arkansas River at the whitewater park in downtown Cañon City, Colorado, looking north across the channel. A tree on the near bank partly hides the park's artificial wave, where the current breaks into white foam.

The park occupies the river channel between Centennial Park and Depot Park, around the Fourth Street viaduct. Its man-made waves of concrete blocks serve kayakers, paddleboarders and rafters, and the park adds slalom gates and a fish passage channel. The Royal Gorge Route Railroad station is about 150 metres to the north.

The view takes in the rock-lined far bank with a dirt path, a white building and trees beyond it. A metal sculpture stands on the near bank at the lower left, and a green metal roof fills the lower right corner.
