Pismo Beach Vespera Hotel, California Live Cam

The Vespera hotel stands at the foot of Pismo Beach pier, and the webcam looks along the sand and out under the deck. The promenade behind the beach was rebuilt in the last few years.

A pier has stood here since 1881 and the present one dates from 1928; storms have taken pieces of it more than once, and the last rebuild finished in 2021. Fishing from it needs no licence, which is unusual in California.

South of the town the sand runs into the Oceano Dunes, the only stretch of the California coast where street-legal vehicles are still allowed to drive on the beach. The argument about closing it has been running for years.
