Nucor Mineral Industries Building, Rapid City Live Cam

This camera looks across a lawn at the new Nucor Mineral Industries Building on the School of Mines campus in Rapid City, South Dakota. Curving paths, a hexagonal bench and a lamp post fill the foreground, with a flagpole flying the American flag on the right.

The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology was founded in 1885. The three-story building stands on the south edge of the central quad, and classes began inside in January 2025. It houses the mining engineering, metallurgical engineering and geology programs, which had shared a Mineral Industries Building completed in 1963.

The fixed view runs along the facade facing the quad, with the building's name lettered beside its glass entrance tower. The stream began in May 2023 as a construction camera, while the building was still going up.
