Weather and time
This camera at the New Braunfels Railroad Museum in Texas looks along a single Union Pacific track where it crosses a street. Gate arms and a crossbuck stand at the left, a gray house sits behind them, and the rails run off between tall trees toward a hillside.
New Braunfels was founded by German settlers in 1845 on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, and the museum keeps its railroad history right beside the working line. The track is the Union Pacific Austin Subdivision, used by Union Pacific freights, BNSF trains under trackage rights and Amtrak’s Texas Eagle.
The camera is movable. Over the day it turns a few degrees and changes zoom, so the vanishing point of the rails and the gap in the trees shift from one frame to the next, while the crossing signals and the house stay fixed as reference points.
