Weather and time
This camera at Foster Memorial Beach near Sag Harbor looks along the wide sandy shore of Noyack Bay on Long Island's South Fork. Dune grass and beach signs fill the foreground, and a paved parking strip runs beside the sand.
Known locally as Long Beach, it stretches for more than a mile along the bay and belongs to the Town of Southampton. The town acquired it in December 1949 from the family of Clifford J. Foster. In summer it has lifeguards, a marked swimming area and separate zones for sailboats and powerboats, while the long parking area draws walkers, cyclists and in-line skaters.
The view follows the curve of the beach toward the wooded Noyack shoreline, with houses among the trees and a low headland on the far horizon. Unlike the Sag Harbor village cameras facing the marina and Long Wharf, this one looks out over open bay water.
