Florida Keys Traffic Live Cam

US Highway 1 runs the length of the Florida Keys, and these cameras watch stretches of it between the islands. The mile markers count down towards Key West at zero.

The road took over a railway. Henry Flagler pushed a line out to Key West by 1912, the Labor Day hurricane of 1935 destroyed a long section of it and killed hundreds, and the state bought the surviving bridges and laid a road along them.

The Seven Mile Bridge is the longest of the crossings, and the older span beside it, kept as a walkway, is Flagler's. There is one road on and off these islands, which is why a crash anywhere along it becomes everybody's problem.
