Cannery Flats, Bozeman Live Cam

A building site fills the foreground at the edge of downtown Bozeman, in the mountains of southern Montana. The webcam looks over the excavation and the streets behind.

The district takes its name from a pea cannery that worked here from 1917. The valley grew peas for canning on a large scale, and the brick sheds along this street have been converted one by one into offices, breweries and flats.

Bozeman has been among the fastest-growing small cities in the country for a decade, which is what the cranes are about. The museum on the campus south of here holds the largest collection of dinosaur remains in the United States, most of it dug out of eastern Montana.
