Weather and time
A wide fixed view of the peregrine falcon nest site on the top floors of County Hall, with the concrete ledge and wooden nest box side by side. Beyond the parapet lie the rooftops of central Aylesbury.
County Hall is the Buckinghamshire Council office tower in the centre of Aylesbury, and the nest site is on its 12th floor. Peregrines first appeared on the building in 2007, a nest platform was erected in 2010, and breeding was first attempted in 2011. Birds have been present at the tower ever since.
This camera shows the whole site from the side: a broad ledge streaked with droppings and feathers on the left, the open wooden box in the middle, and the box lid that serves as a perch. A diagonal metal brace crosses the foreground. A second camera on the same nest looks into the box from much closer.
