Weather and time
This garden feeding station in Carmarthenshire, southwest Wales, is filmed by a low camera set on a covered wooden bird table. A tube seed feeder, a mesh feeder and two suet cages hang from the timber frame of its translucent roof.
Carmarthenshire is a largely rural county of farmland, woods and river valleys, with its county town, Carmarthen, on the River Tywi. Gardens with mature trees here draw woodland birds such as the jay and the nuthatch to feeders. The grey squirrels raiding the seed are North American animals, introduced to Britain in the 19th century.
With the lens at board level, birds landing among the scattered seed look large in the frame. Behind the feeders are a slatted timber fence, tall trees and a shed roof, and on-screen panels show the UK time, the weather and the birds identified by their calls that day.
