Sendero Vivo, Navalagamella Live Cam

A waterhole in the oak country at Navalagamella, some way west of Madrid in Spain, sits in front of this camera. Animals come down to it through the day and night.

Water is the scarce thing here. The dehesa around it is open oak pasture on thin soil, dry from June to September, and a pool like this one pulls in wild boar, deer, foxes and something over seventy recorded species of bird.

The camera is run by a group that puts cameras on Spanish wildlife sites. The sierra behind rises towards the Guadarrama range and the national park on its far side.
