Yeliseev's Food Hall Live Cam

The Eliseev emporium stands at the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and Malaya Sadovaya in St Petersburg, in Russia. The camera looks at the windows from across the pavement.

The building was finished in 1903 for a family of grocers who had started from a market stall and ended up supplying the imperial court. It is one of the more extravagant art nouveau buildings in the city, with a glass front two storeys high and bronze figures on the corners.

A theatre has occupied the upper floors for most of a century. The windows at street level are dressed with mechanical figures that move, which is what the people in the picture are usually looking at.
