Ski Resort Transalpina, Romania Live Cam

The ski area at Vidra sits above the Lotru valley in the Parâng mountains, in the county of Vâlcea in Romania. The webcam turns across the pistes, the lift station and the ridges beyond.

The Transalpina crosses these mountains, the highest road in the country at 2,145 metres on the Urdele pass. It is shut by snow for about half the year, which is the half in which the ski area works.

The lake below is Vidra, a reservoir on the Lotru built in the 1970s for a hydro scheme that is still among the largest in Romania. The resort itself has been built out from almost nothing in the last fifteen years.
