Kråkenes Lighthouse, Vågsøy Live Cam

This camera watches the coast at the Kråkenes lighthouse on the north-western tip of Vågsøy island in western Norway. Dark skerries, white surf and a wide stretch of open sea fill most of its views.

The station lies in Kinn municipality, Vestland, on a narrow rocky promontory facing the open sea. The light was first lit in 1906 and automated in 1986, and the station was rebuilt after a fire during an air raid in 1945. Today the keeper's house holds a restaurant and rooms for overnight guests.

The camera moves between positions: down on the white house with its red lantern roof at the water's edge, along the grassy headland, or out over open water toward mountains on the horizon. A strip at the bottom of the frame reports wind speed, gusts and direction.
