Jarlsberg Travbane, Tønsberg Live Cam

This camera looks over the oval of Jarlsberg Travbane, the harness racing track on the western outskirts of Tønsberg in Vestfold. The wide near straight runs across the frame behind a railing, with a grassy infield, an LED clock board and low buildings beyond.

Jarlsberg Travbane opened in 1935, and its oval is 1,000 metres long. The track is run by the Vestfold trotting association and holds about fifty race days a year, mostly on Fridays. Its best-known race is the Ulf Thoresen Memorial for warmblood trotters.

The view is aimed at the state of the racing surface, so wet patches and standing water on the near straight are easy to see. The board in the infield shows the local time and the air temperature, and an inner lane curves through the grass towards the white fences of the far side.
