Harbour Village Bonaire Coral Reef Live Cam

An underwater webcam films an artificial reef structure off the island of Bonaire, in the Caribbean Netherlands. A dome of encrusted bars stands on the sand in the middle of the frame, with schools of yellow-striped grunts sheltering under and around it.

Bonaire's whole coastline is a marine park, protected since 1979, and the fringing reef starts a few metres from the shore — which is why the island is a diving destination reached without a boat. Structures like this one are placed to give young fish cover and to help coral establish.

Fish gather under the frame during the day and disperse at night. Visibility here is usually good enough to see the sand well beyond the structure.
