Weather and time
This camera looks south from the garden of Kambaku Safari Lodge across a stone-lined waterhole in Namibia's Otjozondjupa Region. Pale stones dot the short grass in front, and a second, smaller pool lies to the right, past a fallen dead tree.
Kambaku is a private wildlife reserve of about 8,000 hectares north of the Waterberg Plateau, between the towns of Otjiwarongo and Otavi. Its bush savanna supports giraffes, zebras, warthogs and several kinds of antelope, as well as leopards and cheetahs. Etosha National Park lies about two hours away by car.
The camera keeps one fixed wide view. Beyond the water, two bare dead trees rise from a plain of yellow grass, with a line of trees and low hills on the horizon. Blue wildebeest come down here to drink, and after dark the picture turns black and white.
