Minowa Station, Taito City Live Cam

The crossing outside Minowa station lies below this webcam, in Taito ward in the northeast of central Tokyo. Traffic crosses under the lights below the lens, and shopfronts and signs line all four corners of the junction.

Minowa is on the Hibiya subway line, and the terminus of the Toden Arakawa line — the last surviving tram route in Tokyo — stands a couple of minutes away. This is shitamachi, the low city: small shops, two-storey buildings and none of the towers of the western wards.

The junction is busiest around the morning and evening commutes. Late at night it empties out to taxis and delivery vans under the signs.
