Weather and time
The Taylor Institution in Oxford, the modern languages library of the university, faces this webcam in England. Its neoclassical front with four columns stands across the junction, and buses and cyclists pass between the lens and the building.
The Taylorian was founded in 1845 and occupies the west wing of C. R. Cockerell's building, sharing it with the Ashmolean Museum next door. The four female figures on the columns stand for France, Spain, Italy and Germany, the languages the library was endowed to serve.
Term time fills the pavement with students and the junction with buses; in the vacations the same view is almost still. The stone front takes strong afternoon light from the west.
