Lido di Jesolo runs for fifteen kilometres along the Adriatic between the Venice lagoon and the mouth of the Piave. The webcam is on a beach kiosk and looks over the umbrellas.

All of this was marsh. The land behind the beach was drained through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and the resort was built on it from the 1950s, which is why the town is a grid rather than a village that grew.

The beach is groomed, the umbrellas are set out in numbered rows by concession, and the main street behind it is closed to cars in the evening for several kilometres. Venice is an hour away by bus and boat.
