Weather and time
This camera looks across a rocky cove to the Colonial Harbour, the old part of Nuuk on the southwest coast of Greenland. Colourful wooden houses, a red church with a tall spire and a statue-topped hill stand on the shore.
The red wooden church is Nuuk Cathedral, and the statue on the hill above it shows Hans Egede, the missionary who founded the settlement in 1728. This old quarter lies on the western shore of the Nuuk peninsula, facing the open sea, and today it holds museums and historic houses.
The camera stands on a timber deck beside the water, with the sea on the left and the shoreline curving toward the old town on the right. A tall mast and a red hut mark the rocky point at the far end of the cove, and a distant coast shows on the horizon.
