Hamburg Harbour, Germany Live Cam

The Landungsbrücken pontoons lie below this webcam in Hamburg harbour, on the Elbe in northern Germany. Excursion boats lie along the pontoon below the lens, and the cranes of the container terminals stand on the far bank.

Hamburg is the largest seaport in Germany, 110 kilometres upriver from the North Sea, and this stretch of quay is where the harbour meets the city: ferries of the public transport network use the same berths as the tour boats. The entrance to the Old Elbe Tunnel, opened in 1911, is at the eastern end of the pontoons.

The tide moves the whole floating pontoon up and down by more than three metres. Boats leave every few minutes through the day, and the terminals opposite work through the night under floodlights.
