Esens-Bensersiel Beach, Germany Live Cam

Bensersiel is the seaside part of Esens, on the North Sea coast of East Frisia in Lower Saxony, Germany. The webcam turns from the beach across to the marina and the mouth of the Benser Tief channel.

Twice a day the water in front of the promenade drains away and leaves mudflats to the horizon. This is the Wadden Sea, a World Heritage site, and guided walks go out across the bottom between tides with a schedule set by the tables rather than the clock.

Ferries to the island of Langeoog leave from the harbour here, which is the main reason the village has a harbour at all. Wicker beach chairs stand in rows on the sand from spring until the autumn storms.
