Gourette is a mountain resort in the commune of Eaux-Bonnes, at about 1,350 m in the French Pyrenees south of Pau. The sign on the station refers to Cotch, a sector of the ski area, and OpenStreetMap maps the lower station of the Cotch chairlift at this spot. Front de neige is the French term for the foot of the slopes, where a resort meets its pistes.

The camera looks across bare grass and gravel tracks towards the station, with chalets scattered higher on the hillside. At the right edge a small concrete hut and a snow gun stand close to the lens. This view stays at the base, unlike the wide panorama of the whole cirque.
