Weather and time
This camera looks east from downtown Toronto over the Rosedale ravine and the Don valley, in Ontario in Canada. The Prince Edward Viaduct crosses the middle of the view.
That bridge was built in 1918 with a second deck underneath for a railway that did not exist yet. The subway that eventually used it opened in 1966, forty-eight years later, and the foresight saved the city the cost of a second crossing.
The ravines below are the reason Toronto looks green from above. A system of wooded valleys runs through the middle of the city, too steep to build on, and they were made into parkland after a hurricane flooded the houses in them in 1954.
