Lanes of the Montreal approach to the Samuel De Champlain Bridge run past the camera, salted and banked with snow through the winter months. Lorries and cars pass in both directions with headlights on.

The bridge opened in 2019 to replace the original Champlain crossing, which was corroding faster than it could be repaired. It carries the St Lawrence traffic between the island of Montreal and Brossard, and the REM light metro line runs along its centre.

The stream cycles through several highway cameras in the corridor, including the stretches around Nuns Island and Boulevard Gaétan-Laberge, so the deck of the bridge itself is only one of the pictures. Around 150,000 vehicles use the crossing on a working day.
