Confederation Bridge Live Cam

The deck of the Confederation Bridge runs across this webcam view, between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. The two-lane roadway runs away to the horizon, with the Northumberland Strait on both sides of it.

The bridge is 12.9 kilometres long, opened in 1997 and replaced the ferry that had linked the island to the mainland; it is the longest bridge anywhere over water that freezes. The piers are shaped to break the ice that moves through the strait each spring.

High winds close the crossing to high-sided vehicles several times a year. The toll is charged in one direction only — leaving the island.
