Charlie Don't Surf, White Rock Live Cam

The seafront at White Rock runs across this view, on Semiahmoo Bay south of Vancouver in British Columbia. The pier runs out into the bay past the promenade, and Marine Drive with its traffic passes directly below the lens.

The pier dates from 1914 and is about 470 metres long, the longest of its kind in the country. The white boulder that gave the town its name sits on the beach a short way west, left behind by the ice at the end of the last glaciation; the far shore of the bay is already in the United States.

Low tide uncovers a wide flat here and the water retreats a long way from the promenade. The stream is provided by a café on the seafront.
