Praia de Geribá runs across this webcam view at Búzios, on the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Umbrellas and chairs stand on the sand in the foreground, and the beach runs in a long curve towards the headland.

Búzios is a peninsula with more than twenty beaches on it, and Geribá — open to the ocean on the southern side — is the surf and beach-club one. The town was a fishing village until the 1960s, when it became fashionable, and it kept the low buildings and cobbled streets.

The wind blows along this beach most afternoons and the swell is steadiest in the southern winter. The high season runs from December to Carnival.
