Kirchberg am Wechsel spreads along the valley floor below forested hills, with the Gothic Wolfgangskirche on a slope above the town. Meadows and trees fill the foreground, and the bare summit of the Schneeberg rises on the horizon.

Kirchberg am Wechsel is a market town in Lower Austria, about 100 kilometres south of Vienna at the foot of the Wechsel. The Otterbach runs through the valley and meets the Molzbach at the eastern end of town to form the Feistritz. The Wolfgangskirche dates from around 1400 and later became a pilgrimage church.

The fixed view shows both churches: the white tower of the parish church of St. Jakob in the centre and the steep red roof of the Wolfgangskirche on the hillside to the right. After dark, street lights and the lit church tower trace the outline of the town.
