Fountain Park, Rock Hill Live Cam

Fountain Park is a square of grass and water in the middle of Rock Hill, in the north of South Carolina. The webcam looks over the fountain and the streets around it.

A block from here, in 1961, nine students sat down at a segregated lunch counter and chose jail over bail when they were arrested. The tactic spread across the South, and their convictions were formally thrown out by a judge in 2015.

Rock Hill is inside the commuter belt of Charlotte, half an hour north over the state line, and is the fifth largest city in South Carolina. The park was laid out in the 1990s on the site of a demolished block.
