Weather and time
This camera sits at the summit of Brundage Mountain, beside the upper terminal of the Bluebird Express chairlift northwest of McCall, Idaho. In its main view, lift towers and empty chairs run down a forested slope toward the base area, with a broad valley floor beyond.
Brundage Mountain is a ski area in the Payette National Forest that opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1961. Its summit stands at 7,640 feet (2,330 metres), and the slopes below look west over New Meadows. The Bluebird Express, a high-speed quad built in 1997, climbs about 470 metres from the base in roughly seven minutes.
Rather than holding one view, the camera turns through several positions. Besides the lift line, it points at conifers on the ridge, down into a wide valley with open meadows, and out to a line of jagged rocky peaks, where a metal railing edges into the picture.
