Gümüşyaka Köprü Bridge, Turkey Live Cam

Gümüşyaka is a neighbourhood of Silivri on the Marmara coast, sixty-five kilometres west of the centre of Istanbul. The webcam looks over a mosque dome and the main road running through.

That road follows an old line. The Via Egnatia, the Roman highway from the Adriatic to Byzantium, came along this coast, and Silivri was Selymbria before either of them: a colony founded by settlers from Megara earlier than Byzantium itself.

The district is where Istanbul goes at the weekend. Summer houses run along the shore for kilometres, and the population of the area roughly doubles between June and September.
