Gümüşyaka Meydan, Istanbul Live Cam

Gazanfer Pala park sits at the middle of Gümüşyaka, a neighbourhood on the Marmara shore west of Istanbul. The webcam looks over the square, the streets and the sea beyond them.

Silivri, the district this belongs to, was known for its yoghurt long before it was known for anything else. It went into Istanbul by cart and later by train, and the name is still used as a description on a label.

The Marmara is an inland sea with narrow openings at either end, which makes it slow to flush. In 2021 a bloom of mucilage covered large parts of the surface and reached this coast, and the clean-up and the sewage rules that followed are still being argued over.
