Lenin Square, Khabarovsk Live Cam

Lenin Square is the largest open space in Khabarovsk, laid out with fountains and lawns in the middle of the city. The camera looks across it from one side.

It is often described locally as the second largest square in Russia. That is a stretch — Kuibyshev Square in Samara is several times bigger — but it is genuinely large for a city of six hundred thousand, and it works as a parade ground, a market and a skating rink in turn.

The medical university takes one side of it and the government buildings another. The square was laid out in the 1890s as a drill ground, planted in the 1950s and rebuilt with the fountains in 1998.
