Solina Gondola, Poland Live Cam

Lake Solina lies among wooded hills in the Bieszczady range, in the far south-eastern corner of Poland. The camera looks over the water and the shore from a restaurant terrace.

The dam that made it is the largest in the country, eighty-two metres high and finished in 1968. Filling the valley took several villages with it, and the lake that resulted is the biggest body of water in Poland by volume.

The mountains behind were emptied of their population in the 1940s and grew back into forest, which is why they are as wild as they are: wolves, bears and bison all live in them, and much of the range is national park.
