Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana, Auckland Live Cam

Devonport sits on the northern side of Auckland harbour, and this view runs out from it towards the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand. A boatshed and a slipway sit at the left of the frame, with a curve of beach and low shoreline houses beyond them.

The camera turns through a wide arc, from the Tamaki Strait in the east round to the city in the west, taking in Bean Rock lighthouse, the cone of Motukorea and the bays along the eastern suburbs. North Head, the old volcanic headland fortified in the nineteenth century, rises immediately behind the camera position.

After dark the Auckland skyline with the Sky Tower shows across the water. The operator runs it as a weather camera, so the overlay carries the date and the time.
