Camping Koeksebelt, Overijssel Live Cam

The pool of a campsite at Ommen fills the picture, in the valley of the Vecht in the east of the Netherlands. The camera looks down on the water and the slide.

The Vecht is a small river that was straightened for barges and has since been allowed to wander again: bends were reopened from the 1990s onwards and the flood meadows put back, which is now standard practice on Dutch lowland rivers.

Ommen sits where the road across the sandy heath crossed that river, and it grew on the crossing. The country around is heath, forest and estates, and the campsite rents boats onto the water in front of it.
