Live webcam shows the Cathedral of Saints Stanislaus and Wladyslaw in the city of Vilnius, is the key Catholic church in Lithuania. The Cathedral Square is the venue for religious, national and state celebrations. The cathedral has an ancient history, during which time it was burnt, destroyed and rebuilt.
Ancient documents mention this place as a place of worship for the pagan god of thunder Perkūnas, before the Catholic cathedral was built in the 13th century, which we still see today.
The cathedral is surrounded by the Cathedral Square, which in the Middle Ages housed defensive structures, towers and the Bishop's Palace. Today this place became the heart of the old city. In any season, through the Cathedral Square there are hundreds of tourists and local residents - strolling and enjoying views of the Old Town of Vilnius.
