The webcam shows the gulf of La Spezia with the views of Portovenere, the Palmaria Island and Tino in Liguria, near the Cinque Terre. The shot allows you to see the cruise ships and cargo ships entering and leaving the port and frames the part of the sky overlooking the Gulf.

These places have inspired artists, writers and poets since ancient times.
One of the first to mention this stretch of the Ligurian coast was Dante in the «Divine Comedy».

In the 19th century, the villages of La Spezia were frequented by English poets such as Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley and his wife Mary.
