Route 134 Shonan Live, JP Cam

Route 134 runs along the shore at Shichirigahama, on the Shonan coast south of Tokyo in Kanagawa prefecture. The camera looks out over the sea from a rooftop above the road.

On clear winter mornings Mount Fuji stands on the far side of Sagami Bay, about seventy kilometres away, and the whole coast turns out to photograph it. The headland on the right of the view is Inamuragasaki.

The railway crossing the picture is the Enoden, a single-track line from 1902 that runs partly in the street. One of its level crossings here has become a pilgrimage site for readers of a basketball comic drawn in the 1990s.
