Weather and time
The Four Courts stands on the north quay of the Liffey in Dublin, its dome closing the view down the river. The webcam looks west across the water towards the bridges.
The building was finished in 1802 and gutted in 1922, when it was occupied by anti-treaty forces and shelled by the new government. The fire took the Public Record Office next door and with it seven hundred years of Irish archives.
It was rebuilt through the 1930s and still holds the courts. The bridge in the foreground is O'Donovan Rossa and the next one up is Grattan, cast iron and painted, two of about twenty crossings inside the city.
