JadeWeserPort, Wilhelmshaven Live Cam

This camera looks out over JadeWeserPort in Wilhelmshaven, where container gantry cranes rise beyond wide lots of parked cars. Logistics halls, a large cold store and the grey-green waters of the Jade complete the view.

JadeWeserPort is Germany's only deep-water container port, built on reclaimed land at the northern edge of Wilhelmshaven. Opened in 2012, it offers a depth of about 18 metres, so the largest container ships can berth at any state of the tide. Behind the quay, a logistics zone stores cargo and sends it on inland.

The camera pans slowly across a wide arc. One end follows a grassy dike and its service road towards a belt of woodland, and the middle of the sweep takes in the car lots and the cranes on the distant quay. The other end opens onto the Jade, with ships in the fairway and wind turbines on the far bank.
