El Quisco, Valparaiso Live Cam

El Quisco is a beach town on the central coast of Chile, about a hundred kilometres west of the capital, Santiago. The webcam looks over the bay, the fishing cove and the square behind them.

Isla Negra, three kilometres down the coast, is where Pablo Neruda built the house he filled with ships' figureheads and bottles. He is buried in the garden, looking out at this same water.

The Humboldt current runs north along this coast and brings cold water with it, so the sea rarely passes fifteen degrees whatever the air is doing. It also brings the fish the boats in the cove go out for.
