Weather and time
This camera looks from the viewing deck of the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre over a forested valley in Ontario, Canada. A corner of the wooden deck fills the lower left of the frame, and a small lake and rounded hills lie far beyond.
Algonquin Provincial Park covers about 7,630 square kilometres in Ontario. The Visitor Centre stands at kilometre 43 of Highway 60 and was built in 1993 for the park's 100th anniversary. Inside are exhibits on natural and cultural history, a theatre and a bookstore. From the deck, the view opens over the Sunday Creek valley.
The camera keeps one fixed view, so the changes come from light and weather. In the morning, frost and mist can sit over the water, and in the afternoon the hills catch low sun. Visitors step onto the deck to look over the valley, and the wetland in the middle shifts colour with the season.
