The Pacific Highway runs south from this view towards the Canada-United States border, at Surrey in British Columbia. A car park and low commercial buildings fill the foreground, and the highway runs off towards the crossing.

This is the truck crossing between Surrey and Blaine in Washington State, one of the busiest freight border points on the west coast. Queues here are watched by hauliers, which is why the camera exists at all.
